LBJ Presidential Library unveils new exhibits in honor of MLK, Civil Rights Movement
AUSTIN (KXAN) — In honor of what would have been Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 87th birthday, the LBJ Presidential Library will open two exhibits to remember Dr. King’s birthday and Black History Month in February. The exhibits open on Jan. 15 and runs until April 10.
One of the exhibits is titled “The Continual Struggle” and features artwork from Brian Washington documenting the Civil Rights Movement. The exhibit uses visual art as an educational tool and method of storytelling, vividly illustrating people who were willing to put their lives on the line, to protest injustice and inequality.
